Kilimanjaro Climb Testimonials

Patrick and Karlie at the Summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania In short though, the trip was fantastic from start to finish, and I can't thank you enough for the help in setting everything up. The Rivertrees Country Inn was a slice of paradise, both before and after, and the guides were fantastic throughout the trek. We actually cut a day off of the trek since we seemed to be keeping a pretty good pace for the first few days, but the summit day was still a bear. Good advice on the later ascent and we definitely appreciated the warmer temps at the summit as opposed to the Arctic freeze that most others experienced. Not having to worry about any logistics other than getting on a plane from Germany was a the perfect way for us to really just kick back and enjoy the trip, and hopefully we didn't just spoil ourselves for our future endeavors!

So, thanks again for your advice and coordination with the trip, and we'll be sure to recommend both you to anyone that has an interest in either Kili or the safaris in that region!

Karolina and Ilona on the summit of KilimanjaroThe trip was amazing, we both had the time of our lives. Amazing food, amazing service. We never expected to be treated so well and it was a great surprise. The guides and porters were all excellent, very experienced and very friendly. And the food was great!

Was it harder than we imagined? Up to the last day, it wasn't, it was a great hike every day, with amazing views of Kili. We were quite lucky I guess because neither one of us had any problem sleeping throughout. The summit day itself was probably harder than we expected with the altitude kicking in, but again, the guides did an amazing job looking after us the whole way up.

It has become apparent that all the following trips will be hugely compared to this one and frankly, I am afraid that it will be hard to fulfil our expectations now!

I would like to say a big thank you to whole Aardvark and Hoopoe for an amazing experience!

The Eley Family at the Summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania First let me say how completely delighted we were with every aspect of our recent Kilimanjaro climb with Joseph, Kim and the team. The guides and crew were fantastic, the equipment was excellent, the food was extraordinary, the route was wonderful - and they even managed to arrange for the weather to be kind! We really appreciated their attention to detail and especially the patience and support of the team to help us to make this iconic journey.

We can honestly say that we enjoyed every moment of this trek. Climbing through the different climate zones of the Lemosho Route from rainforest to alpine desert meant that the terrain was different every day. From awaking to the awesome dawn chorus of the colobus monkeys at the first camp to setting foot on the summit was truly a journey of wonder, challenge, fun and achievement. As a family adventure, it is hard to see how it could be surpassed. We can seriously recommend it to anyone.

Kilimanjaro was of course the star of the show, but our pre-climb stay at Hatari Lodge, the post trek stay at Onsea House and the 5 nights in Zanzibar were perfect complements to the climb. Thanks for a perfect adventure and a perfect holiday!

Jon and Allison Beer, Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania We were lucky enough on our trip up Kilimanjaro to be accompanied by Victoria herself who was doing her research on the area the best way possible, by doing it herself! The guides, the porters, and the crew at the base camp were without exception incredible. The organisation was impeccable and we felt tremendously well looked after for our entire time on the mountain. Walking into the fully prepared camp shortly before dusk after a hard day's trekking it was a wonderful boost to the spirits to see the entire group of guides and porters standing waiting for us and singing as we arrived. The omnipresent cup of tea was also greatly appreciated! We really can't say enough good things about the entire team. When we return to Africa for our next big adventure we will undoubtedly be using Aardvark Safaris who looked after us amazingly well before, during and after our trip.

Robbie Stern (far right) at the top of KilimanjaroVictoria Langmead at Aardvark Safaris was massively helpful, attentive and flexible in helping me put together a Kilimanjaro Climb at very short notice. Once in Kenya and Tanzania I felt that I had been transferred into safe, competent hands, and I had a truly amazing time on the mountain. I would unreservedly recommend Aardvark Safaris and Summit Africa to anyone planning a Kilimanjaro climb.

Sophie Brewer, Kilimanjaro, TanzaniaIt was my first time travelling in Africa and I was travelling alone so arrived with a certain level of trepidation at Dar Es Salaam airport at 6 in the morning.  I couldn't have been better looked after however and was met with beaming smiles by a collection of helpful representatives from Coastal Aviation who herded me through to the domestic terminal and on to a local plane to Arusha without me even having to dig out my documents.  At Arusha I was passed into the capable hands of Hoopoe who were in charge of my destiny for the next week climbing Kilimanjaro.  They couldn't have been more charming and helpful and I had absolutely no worries being alone during the journey or the climb itself.
