Lake MalawiLake Malawi Fast Facts – Lake Malawi should probably be thought of as an inland sea. It covers one fifth known as of Malawi’s surface area and is known as the calendar lake as it’s about 365 miles long and 52 miles wide. It is the southern-most of the lakes formed by the Great Rift Valley and has the deepest water of any lake at over 700m.

With sandy beaches, clear fresh water for snorkelling and diving trips, great lodges, and friendly locals, it is a super alternative to the coast.
