Typical Migration Routing

The Migration is rarely the same in terms of exact timing and direction. A typical routing would be:

January/February/March: short grass plains of the southern Serengeti, Tanzania

April/May: central Serenegti plains

June: western Corridor of the Serengeti/Grumeti River Crossing

July: northern Serengeti/ Mara River crossing

August/September/October: Masai mara in Kenya

November/December: southward journey back to the Serengeti
