The Chyulu Hills are Green again
Like much of Kenya, the Chyulu Hills have had good rain over the last two months. Grass is becoming green and thick, wildflowers are sprouting, and wildlife and horses are feeling relieved.
Riders are seeing fantastic wildlife even close to the stables. The green grass has brought hartebeest and buffalo from the hills onto the plain and the elephants which had moved out of the area have moved back, with some breeding herds bringing youngsters to the waterhole in front of Ol Donyo Wuas lodge. There is also a female cheetah resident in the area with six cubs. She is regularly seen by guests as are the three male cheetahs who work together to bring down animals as big as zebra.
