Saba Douglas-Hamilton
Saba’s first job was with Save The Rhino Trust in Namibia and later was an anthropological consultant for the National Museums of Kenya. In 1997 she joined her father’s charity, Save The Elephants and whilst working in the Samburu National Reserve she was talent-spotted by the BBC, thus beginning her life as a TV presenter and producer of wildlife documentaries.
Last year, Saba featured in Last of the Longnecks, the first feature length documentary to bring light to the threats affecting giraffe conservation in what has been described as a ‘silent extinction’ of the animals. Saba lives in Kenya with her husband and three children and runs the family’s tented eco-lodge, Elephant Watch Camp. A 10 part BBC series – This Wild Life – about their lives in Samburu was broadcast on BBC2.
Jackson Looseyia
– Kenyan safari guide extraordinaire. Masai warrior, a village elder, co-owner of Rekero Camp and presenter on the BBC’s Big Cat Diary. They don’t get any better than Jackson whose encyclopaedic knowledge of the Mara and its inhabitants is truly breath-taking. Ake Lindstrom

Gordie Church
– horseman. Learnt the ropes from his father, Tony, who pioneered Kenyan riding safaris in the 1970s. With 25 years’ experience in the bush he’s a true professional and passionate about Africa’s people and wildlife. He’s great company and utterly charming. Stretch Ferreira
– safari giant. Something of a legend in Mana Pools, Stretch (topping 6’6”) has been operating his own unique safaris here for 25 years. – pilot guides. These three brothers lead one of the most extraordinary safaris in Africa. To fly up Namibia’s Skeleton Coast in their company is truly the trip of a lifetime. Kerry Glenn
