The Big Cat Diary (currently being screened by BBC1) was filmed in the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya. During the week's programmes the BBC captured some spectacular wildlife footage.

Excitingly this year Jackson Looseyia has joined the Big Cat Diary team of presenters. Jackson, as visitors to Rekero Camp will know, is a wealth of knowledge on the flora and fauna of the area as well as the history and politics of the Mara area in particular and Kenya as a whole.

The camps with whom we work in the Masai Mara know their areas intimately. You will be fantastically well hosted and the guides will not only share their knowledge but keep you away from the busier areas of the reserve.

It's not just show time for the big cats during the Big Cat Diary filing schedule, the wildlife in the Masai Mara is spectacular all year round and the area is particularly known for its huge black-maned lions and other predators.
