Motswiri Camp

Motswiri Camp is based on the beautiful Selinda Spillway in the Selinda Reserve, in northern Botswana. The spillway is an ancient watercourse linking the Okavango Delta to the Kwando-Linyanti flood plains and in 2009 it flooded for the first time in 30 years, connecting these two great flood plains.
Accommodation & Facilities
Set on the raised banks of the Spillway, the five guest tents are airy, spaced well apart and each has its own self-contained shower, loo, and large decked veranda. The central mess area boasts a large, comfortable sitting area with separate dining area. It has wonderful views of the spillway and the wildlife that is attracted to it to drink. Guests return to camp each night after their day’s activities, however in the dry season fly camping is available when the water levels allow.
Wildlife and Activities
Motswiri operates riding and walking safaris in a 120,000 acre private concession and is home to giraffe, zebra, tsessebe, lion, leopard, cheetah, the rare roan antelope, sable and wild dog. Many large herds of elephant and buffalo migrate through the reserve during the year and there are also fantastic birding opportunities. As a result of the high waters guests can enjoy a range of water based activities such as canoeing, Mokoro trips, fishing and exploring the main channel by motor boat. Game drives and night drives are also on offer, although the high floods currently being experienced do restrict the geographical reach of these, and boating options often allow better access to the reserve.
