Xakanaxa Camp
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at Xakanaxa Camp is in twelve large tents on wooden platforms. Each tent is fully equipped and tastefully furnished, and has en suite facilities. The camp has been recently renovated and standards are high. The main area has a dining room, fire deck, bar and pool, and overlooks the Okavango waterways.
Xakanaxa Camp's newest addition, The Owner's Cottage, provides the ultimate experience in luxury and exclusivity. This private, elevated wood and thatch cottage offers an open-fronted bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite double shower, hand basin and toilet facilities. A free standing outdoor bathtub overlooks the Khwai River. The Owner's Cottage offers a personal plunge pool, sala, lounge area, fire deck and viewing deck.
Wildlife & Activities
Xakanaxa is a water and land based camp, and is one of the few lodges in Moremi to be able to offer year round boating trips. Game activities are therefore by boat or vehicle. Activities are led by professional, conservation-aware guides. There is also good bird viewing as the world famous Gcodikwe, Xhobega and Xakanaxa heronries, which attract large numbers of breeding storks and herons are situated within reach of the camp.
