Kiwayu is located on the Kenyan mainland about 30 kilometres north of Lamu Island, in the Kiunga Marine Reserve. It is set in a breathtakingly beautiful bay opposite Kiwayu Island, nestled amongst the mainland dunes.

Accommodation & Facilities
The camp has 18 cottages, which are built in the traditional "Bajuni" style using mangrove poles, palm thatch and matting. The suites are set amongst the star palms along the beach and each has both an en-suite bathroom and an extensive verandah for lounging (complete with hammock and Lamu beds). There is also a dining room and a separate lounge and bar area.

Wildlife & Activities
The white coral beach stretches for miles on each side of the camp. Snorkelling, wind surfing, laser sailing, water skiing, fishing and exploring the mangrove forests and picnics can all be arranged. It is also possible to go sailing in the camp's Jahazi or dhow, to roam the Kiwayu archipelago of islands and sample some of the undisturbed Bajuni culture in this very sparsely populated area. Bird watching is excellent, turtles can be seen feeding in the bay at low tide, and deep-sea fishing can also be organised between mid-October and mid-April on the lodge’s own boat. Both fly fishing and conventional fishing are practised.
