Loisaba
Loisaba is located on the Laikipia Escarpment on the edge of Kenya's Northern Territories in a 61,000 acre private game sanctuary, with many different types of habitat. The lodge has a spectacular setting overlooking a waterhole, and miles of rugged wilderness. On a clear day you are also able to view Mount Kenya.
Accommodation & Facilities
The lodge hosts are very much part of your experience at Loisaba and take a personal interest in ensuring you are well looked after. All eight spacious cottages have decks built into the escarpment, with views over the waterhole. All have en-suite bathrooms and are beautifully furnished. The lodge has a tennis court, pool, croquet lawn and spa with massage facilities.
Wildlife & Activities
While the Laikipia area is not traditionally associated with big game, Loisaba is home to wild dog, leopard, buffalo, hippo, lion and elephant. There are also many activities on offer from Loisaba, including quad biking (at extra cost), kayaking, mounting biking, horse riding and camel riding, walking, day and night game drives, bush meals, and river rafting if the water level allows. Alternatively you can relax at the spa, and enjoy the view across the plains towards Mount Kenya. Loisaba also offers guests a unique opportunity to sleep out on thatched platforms under the stars at their 'Star Beds', hosted by local Masai.
