It is watered by 13 rivers which rise in the Nyambene Hills to the west and flow towards the Tana River in the south. The area can best be explored by vehicle and has excellent game viewing opportunities which include lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, black and white rhinos, giraffe, zebra and many kinds of antelope. This area is also excellent for bird-watching. Guests can go fishing and swimming in the river, go for short walks near the camp, and take their meals and sundowners in the bush.
