Rekero Camp, nestles in a ravine forest close to the confluence of the Talek and Mara rivers, in the southern section of the Masai Mara, close to many of the migration river crossings. At 1,812 sq. Km the Masai Mara offers wonderful scenery and an abundance of big game, and it is only a 45 minute flight from Nairobi.
Rekero is owned and run by the Beatons and Jackson Ole Looseyia, and the knowledge and hospitality shown by the owners and their local Masai and Ndorobo guides is what makes a stay here so special. The tented camp is in the style of a smart mobile camp with eight large tents (including one spacious family tent) set on the edge of the river. Although toilets and bucket showers are en-suite there is an enamel basin on the verandah, and hot and cold water is provided. There is also a dining tent, although most meals are enjoyed outdoors.
Game viewing is predominantly by vehicle, and the knowledge of the local guides is such that guests from Rekero are unlikely to encounter other tourists during their stay. Rekero is set inside the Masai Mara and as a result walking from the camp is not possible.  However, morning walks outside the reserve in a neighbouring conservancy can be arranged and the community fee paid for locally. The camp is ideally situated for viewing the big cats, and also for the annual wildebeest migration. On the reserve there are also large herds of buffalo and various antelope, and in addition hippo, giraffe, elephant, cheetah and leopard are frequently seen.
