Richard's Camp
Richard’s Camp is set into a grove of Euclea and olive trees in the northern part of the Masai Mara ecosystem. It is a short drive from an airstrip serviced by both charter and scheduled flights, which take 30 – 45 minutes from Nairobi.
Accommodation & Facilities
The camp has seven large safari tents with en-suite bucket showers and flush loos. Each tent is individually designed, and has simple but attractive furniture. There is a free-standing ‘bath in the bush’ which provides a great way to relax between game activities. There is also a spacious lounge area, but most meals are taken outside.
Wildlife & Activities
Game viewing can be done on foot with an experienced guide, or in a customised 4x4 vehicle. There are very large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and various antelope, and hippo, giraffe, elephant, cheetah and leopard are frequently seen. The Mara normally hosts the incredible wildebeest migration on their annual trek from the southern plains of the Serengeti, and this can be seen between late June and mid October. Night game drives are also available. Night game drives and visits to Masai villages are also available from Richard's Camp.
