Tortilis Camp
Tortilis is just outside the Amboseli National Park in Kenya. It is one Africa's most beautiful and game rich parks. It is just a 45 minute flight south east from Nairobi. Tortilis looks onto the north face of snow capped Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain.
Tortilis Camp is a luxury tented camp, with 17 large tents, all with en-suite facilities. There are comfortable beds, electric lights and hot and cold running water. The tents are covered in thatch to keep them as cool as possible, and you can relax and unwind on your private veranda or around the pool.
Amboseli is famous for its elephant population, which spends much of its time in the swamps. Morning and afternoon game drives will take you into the park to see these magnificent creatures, as well as zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and many predators such as lion. It is also possible to walk in the community area outside the park with a local Masai. More a nature walk than a game walk you can learn about the medicinal uses of many of the local plants and if necessary he will make you a toothbrush from a freshly cut tree branch.
