Bush House
Bush House is a wonderful secluded small property overlooking Lake Ampitabe on the Pangalanes Canal in Eastern Madagascar. Access is by boat along the old shipping canel with its made waterways interspersed with huge lakes. The lodge is hidden amongst the forest, and from its hillside location you get excellent views.
Accommodation & Facilities
Much of Bush House is hand built from local materials and all of the 11 bungalows and two rooms are different, each with their own en-suite bathrooms. There is also a bar and restaurant, where the menu includes traditional Malagasy, Creole and French dishes.
Wildlife & Activities
Guests at Bush House can explore the beautiful unspoilt surroundings on foot or by boat, or walk in the nearby private reserve to see some of the species protected there including lemurs. These include crowned, red-bellied, ring-tailed and black and white ruffled lemurs as well as chameleons and radiated tortoises. Some water based activities are also available, including canoeing.
