Mananara Lodge is in the Anjozorobe forest corridor is one of the last vestiges of dense rain forest in Madagascar. It is set on the high plateaux, covering 66,500 hectares and stretching over 50 miles. Mananara Lodge is set in a private 2,500 hectare reserve within the forest less than two hours to the north of Tana.

Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at Mananara Lodge is in 5 semi-tented bungalows which are nestled into the surrounding vegetation. All have en suite bathrooms with baths and verandahs. There is a glass walled restaurant which boasts splendid views on the forest.

Wildlife & Activities
The forest around Mananara Lodge harbours an enormous biodiversity and can be explored on a wide variety of forest walks or a mountain bike trail with its extraordinary panoramic views. Eleven species of lemurs live in the forest and for ornithologists Anjozorobe is ideal with its 82 bird species, of which 43 are endemic. There are also more than 423 plant species of which 65% are endemic to Madagascar.
