
Masoala Forest Lodge
Masoala Forest Lodge is in a clearing in the primary forest on a beach on the Masoala Peninsula in the north-east of Madagascar. Access is by boat, in the morning, across the Bay of Antongil from Maroantsetra.
Accommodation & Facilities
The five tents at Masoala Forest Lodge are all on platforms under thatch and have verandahs with hammocks. The private bathrooms are set a short distance away from the tents and have flush loos and bucket showers. There is a main dining area and lounge overlooking the beach.
Wildlife & Activities
There are lots of possibilities for activities from the beach at Masoala Forest Lodge including snorkelling and sea kayaking. Day and night guided walks into the Masoala National Park provide good opportunities to view wildlife, including a number of different lemur species, birds and endemic flora. There are also hikes to a nearby waterfall or along the beach. Fishing and whale watching can also be arranged.
