Princesse Bora Lodge
Princesse Bora is a beach hotel on the west coast of Ile Saint Marie, an island off the east coast of Madagascar. Built and managed by a Swiss couple, Francois-Xavier and Sophie, it has set a new high standard of accommodation on the island.
Accommodation & Facilities
The hotel has 20 bungalows spread throughout pretty grounds. All the rooms of Princess Bora have views of the sea, but they are not all directly on the shoreline, some being behind others. The rooms are nicely furnished as are the en-suite bathrooms. Each room has a fan and a verandah. The hotel has cleverly split its restaurant into two to give a more intimate atmosphere. There is a bar and separate lounge.
Wildlife & Activities
The beach at Princesse Bora is protected by a bank of coral and is ideal for divers and snorkelling. Between July and September there is excellent whale watching as humpback whales congregate in these waters to give birth and mate. Guests can waterski as well as take boat and 4 x 4 excursions. Motorbikes and bikes are available for rent.
