Zomba Forest Lodge is situated half way up the 6,000 foot high Zomba Plateau making it an ideal place to access the numerous walking and hiking trails.  On top of the mountain there are acres of cedar, pine and cypress as well as a mixture of other vegetation. The plateau top is criss-crossed by streams as well as having many waterfalls and lakes.

Accommodation & Facilities
This old colonial house is set in spacious grounds and consists of four simple en suite bedrooms, a large lounge with a fireplace and a separate dining room. Lighting is mainly by candle light and gas lamps although there is a back up generator.

Wildlife & Activities
There are a number of excellent walking trails around the top of the plateau where the outstanding view points were described in colonial times as being some of ‘the best in the British Empire’. As well as walking and hiking other activities available from Zomba Forest Lodge include trout fishing, bird watching, guided tours from the Lodge and around the plateau, excursions to Zomba Market or horse riding with an external riding outfit.
