Vamizi Island
Vamizi is a 12km finger of land just off the coast of Palma in the far north of Cabo Delgado, Mozambique’s northern-most province. The forested interior hosts a wealth of animal and bird species, and the surrounding sea is rich in coral and marine life. Two different species of turtle (Hawksbill and Green) nest on the island’s beaches.
Vamizi Island Lodge is built on the north of the island, at the end of a long white sandy beach. The lodge has ten secluded and spacious thatched villas that have been built under the shade at the forest edge. Each one is comfortably appointed, comprising a large living room, spectacular bathroom and breezy veranda. Two of the rooms can be used as adjoining family rooms.
Whilst staying at Vamizi, guests can simply relax on the beach, or enjoy world class diving and snorkelling. There is excellent fishing around the island and professional guides are available to accompany guests into the island interior either on foot or by vehicle.
