Desert Rhino Camp
Desert Rhino Camp is a tented camp run in conjunction with 'Save the Rhino Trust' in the northern Damaraland, Namibia. The area in which the camp is based covers over 450,000 hectares of rugged desert landscape. Whether arriving by plane or in your own vehicle, the lodge is accessed by 4wd lodge vehicle along a bumpy road which takes up to 2½ hours to drive.
Accommodation & Facilities
The camp comprises of six large, comfortable tents, all with en-suite facilities. There is also a main dining tent and lounge.
Wildlife & Activities
Whilst staying at Desert Rhino Camp, guests have the rare pleasure of exploring this wild and remote area in the company of dedicated conservationists and local trackers. Time is spent not only tracking the black rhino, but also looking for desert adapted elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena. This northern part of Damaraland is also good for birding, and as well as viewing by vehicle, guided walks are also an option.
