Etosha Rest Camps
The Etosha National Park in Northern Namibia is one of the world's finest game parks. Covering 22 270 square kilometres, Etosha is famed for its numerous waterholes where a wide diversity of game can be seen. The most spectacular feature of the park is the vast, shallow salt pan, which lies at its centre, filling with water during the rainy season attracting a variety of wildlife and numerous species of birdlife.
For those wishing to stay in the park there are three rest camps offering a range of accommodation. Okaukuejo at the Park's western entrance is the oldest and possibly most popular rest camp. A floodlit waterhole visited by plenty of game, especially after sunset, gives Okaukuejo its special character and provides guests with hours of entertainment and the opportunity to see animals such as elephant and black rhino from close by. Namutoni is situated on the eastern side of Etosha, and derives its name from the old German fort around which it is built. As a reminder of its military past, sunrise and sunset are observed by a bugler calling from the top of the watch tower, in the fort's north-eastern corner. Halali is the newest rest camp in the park and is located halfway between Okaukuejo and Namutoni. It is surrounded by some of the most popular water holes in Etosha .
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at each camp ranges from luxury and standard bungalows to caravan and camping sites. All three are serviced by their own swimming pool, filling station, shop, kiosk and restaurant.
