
Cybele Forest Lodge


Cybele Forest Lodge is well off the beaten track in a forestry and fruit plantation area in Mpumalanga, South Africa. It is about four hours east of Johannesburg and a couple of hours from the game areas of Kruger National Park to the west.
Accommodation & Facilities
The Lodge has a number of different styles of accommodation, all of which have en-suite bathrooms, some with pretty courtyard gardens and private plunge pools. The main house has a cosy bar and lounges and a relaxed dining room. The gardens are beautiful and have a pool and an outdoor dining area. The 'Forest Health Spa' is a great feature of the lodge and offers a wide range of beauty and massage treatments and there is also a well equipped gym.
Wildlife & Activities
Cybele Forest Lodge is ideally located for visiting the highlights of Mpumalanga including Mac Mac Falls, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon and Pilgrim’s rest, all within an hour’s easy drive from the lodge. The area also boasts a variety of activities for the more adventurous, including river rafting, quad biking and the longest aerial cable trail in Africa. Visits can also be arranged to The Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Eden and Mpumalanga Elephant-Back Safaris. For those wishing to stay around the lodge, there is a lovely woodland walk down to Cybele Falls, where a picnic breakfast or lunch can be set up, or simply relax in the spa or beside the pool and enjoy the mountain views.
