Luxury Train Journeys
The Blue Train crosses South Africa's varied landscapes along four alternative routes, whilst Rovos Rail offers a number of longer routes throughout Southern Africa, travelling as far north as Dar Es Salaam. The most popular route is between Cape Town and Pretoria, a journey which can take one or two nights in either direction. Some of the routes covered by Rovos Rail use trains which are hauled by a steam engine.
Accommodation & Facilities
These trains combine all the comfort and luxury of a five star hotel with a globally unparalleled journey. Neither train takes more than 76 passengers. By day guests can watch the countryside rolling by from the comfort of their suites, which by night are turned into luxurious bedrooms.
Accommodation on both the Blue Train and Rovos Rail is en suite with either a private bath or shower. Guests may also make use of the lounge and observation cars. A la carte menus are served in the elegant dining car.
