Thonga Beach Lodge
Thonga Beach Lodge in Mabibi is set on the Maputaland coast, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, just metres from the beach and a 10 minute drive from Lake Sibiya (Southern Africa's largest freshwater lake), which is part of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, now internationally recognised as a World Heritage Site.
Accommodation & Facilities
The 12 thatched bush suites at Thonga Beach Lodge (some sea facing and others overlooking the nearby dunes) provide guests with complete privacy and were carefully constructed to ensure minimal impact on the environment. Meals are taken either on the ocean facing terrace or in the main thatched building.
Wildlife & Activities
Activities at Thonga Beach Lodge include off-shore scuba diving, guided canoe trips on Lake Sibiya, turtle tracking (November to January), snorkeling and swimming, guided wilderness walks and fishing: surf, deep-sea (at Sodwana Bay) and fly-fishing.
