Old Mondoro is a small traditional bush camp set in a grove of Acacia trees on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park, near the Chakwenga River confluence. It is a beautiful site overlooking a maze of hippo-inhabited islands and channels.

Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodating only eight guests and of traditional design, Old Mondoro's four rooms are constructed of reed and canvas, each with shaded decks overlooking the Zambezi. The rooms have en-suite facilities with flush toilets, and 24 hour hot and cold water with an outdoor shower and bath with views towards the Zambezi. The camp has an open adventurous feel, that provides a more than comfortable retreat after a day filled with excitement in the bush. A traditional bush kitchen supplies outstanding meals and fresh bread baked daily from a homemade oven.

Wildlife & Activities
There are some excellent walking areas right out of Old Mondoro and more just a short drive away. Also on offer are day and night game drives, canoeing boat trips and catch & release fishing. This part of the Lower Zambezi National Park offers excellent game viewing with elephant, lion and buffalo activity as well as frequent leopard and serval sightings. Plains game such as zebra and kudu is also regularly seen in the area.
