Chole Mjini
Chole Mjini is an owner run eco-friendly lodge located on the small and idyllic island of Chole, set in the clear waters of Chole Bay, at the centre of Mafia’s Marine Park and surrounded by natural beauty.
Accommodation & Facilities
The seven tree houses, embraced by Baobabs, are wonderfully open, spacious with large double beds and offer fantastic views over the ocean. The lodge has been very carefully designed with everything being crafted from local materials.
Wildlife & Activities
The owners of Chole Mjini are both biologists and have more than 15 years of diving experience in Mafia, so offer guests a fantastic opportunity to snorkel, skin dive or Scuba dive and see the best conserved coral reefs and biggest and most plentiful fish in East Africa. There is an on-site dive shop and PADI instructor, specialising in small groups and individual training. From Chole Mjini it is also possible to see Turtles hatching (July through to November) and swim with Whale Sharks (December through to March). Other activities include a visit to neighbouring islands to view spectacular ruins, swim in inland pools and explore forests.
