Pole Pole
Pole Pole is situated in The Mafia Island Marine Park which is one of the most significant marine eco-systems in the world, with over 400 species of fish. On the island the vegetation is dominated by large palm groves, baobabs, mangroves and fruit trees. Wildlife includes, monkeys, antelope, a small colony of hippo and many species of birds. The snorkelling and diving are excellent, with the bays and lagoons providing a paradise for both experts and beginners alike.
Accommodation & Facilities
Pole Pole is set in a breezy spot overlooking the Indian Ocean and the islands of the archipelago. It has seven bungalows each with a large verandah and a spectacular view. The décor is ethnically inspired and each has a spacious ensuite bathroom. The service is relaxed and very personal, with first class cuisine, based on seafood, including many different culinary traditions with an Indian touch.
Wildlife & Activities
Daily activities include boat trips to the coral rocks and white sandy banks, snorkelling, visits to the old Arab ruins and local villages. Diving is carried out by a professional and well-equipped dive centre.
