The Residence Zanzibar
The Residence Zanzibar is a luxury beach front property on the south west coast of the tropical island of Zanzibar, close to the village of Kizimkazi which is famed for its dolphin safaris. Set in 32 hectares of pristine land and along a mile-long powdery white sand beach, it is just a 55 minute drive from the capital Stone Town and the airport. The hotel combines the island's exotic history with elegance and a casual atmosphere.
Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at the Residence Zanzibar comprises 66 well-appointed and luxurious villas in six different room categories, ranging from one to two bedroom villas, with views of either the garden or ocean. All of the villas are stylishly furnished in a fusion of African and Omani décor. Each of the spacious villas features a bedroom and large living area, leading onto a private deck with sun loungers and a plunge pool. There is also a large en-suite bathroom complete with dual basins, a standalone bath and both indoor and outdoor showers. Bicycles are provided with each villa to make it easy to explore the local area and gardens. The hotel has two restaurants and a pool-side snack bar serving delicious fresh food, as well as two bars. There is also a communal pool.
Wildlife & Activities
Guests can enjoy an impressive range of activities including tennis, kayaking, snorkelling, Hobie cat sailing and also have access to the well-equipped gym. There is an excellent spa, which along with deep sea fishing, kite surfing, dolphin safaris, dhow cruises and scuba diving can all be arranged and paid for locally. The hotel can also arrange excursions to the historic and vibrant Stone Town, the Jozani Forest to see the Red Colobus Monkey and fascinating tours of local spice plantations to discover Zanzibar’s spice history.
