Little Kulala

Little Kulala is in the 27,000 hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve, adjacent to the Sossusvlei dune fields in Namibia’s Namib Desert. Set beside the ephemeral Auab River, and with a good outlook to both the russet dunes and the Naukluft Mountains, the lodge is a luxurious base for exploring this unique and fascinating ecosystem, and the Kulala reserve itself which has been restored from its former use for goat farming.

Accommodation & Facilities
Little Kulala has 11 spacious thatched rooms, which each have a large air-conditioned interior with a bedroom and en-suite bathroom with inside and outside showers, a rooftop terrace for star gazing and sleep outs, a shaded deck and a plunge pool. One room accommodates a family with two bedrooms. The main lodge has a wide open front, with excellent views of the wilderness. The lodge houses a large dining room, a bar, and a spacious lounge, while a large wine cellar and a library offer good locations for private meals. The upstairs lounge has an Olympus Photo Hub, where guests can download and edit images.

Wildlife & Activities
The activities on offer at Little Kulala include the earliest and easiest access to Sossusvlei itself, a tour of Sesriem Canyon, guided drives into the dunes, guided day and night drives on the Kulala Wilderness Reserve, quad bike excursions, electric fat tyred bike rides, nocturnal scorpion walks, picnics and bush walks. Scenic flights and hot air ballooning can also be arranged for an additional fee
