Mihingo Lodge

Mihingo Lodge has beautiful peaceful location on a granite kopje overlooking Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda. Covering 230 square miles, the Park rises to the west of the acacia fringed lake waters into grassy escarpments and closed canopy forest. To the east lie grassy valleys, swampy at the lower levels, with exposed rocky kopjes providing excellent vantage points for leopard.

Accommodation & Facilities

The lodge has ten, thatched roof tented rooms built on wooden platforms with stilts. The spacious and comfortable tents each have a private veranda, en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, showers and a flush loo. Built from locally sourced materials, the lodge incorporates the huge boulders on the site, and is decorated with local Ugandan artefacts. Mihingo Lodge has a beautiful infinity pool overlooking a salt lick and a waterhole, and a spacious lounge, bar, and dining room which have wonderful views across the Park.

Wildlife & Activities

Lake Mburo National Park is home to many different animal species, including zebra, waterbuck, warthog, and impala and large concentrations of topi, buffalo and hippo, and lucky guests may also see leopard, eland and crocodile. When not enjoying the view from the pool, enjoying the sounds of nature, or watching nearby wildlife, guests can take boat trips on Lake Mburo, forest and savannah walks, day and night wildlife drives in Lake Mburo National Park, enjoy horse riding for all abilities, and mountain biking.
