Enterprising Tailor in Malawi

 

Orphans in their new clothes, Mumbo Island, Malawi The enterprising tailor who was recovering the cushions for Mumbo Island on Lake Malawi didn’t just throw away the slightly faded old covers. As he sat on the deck at Kayak Africa’s basecamp for three days, working with his Singer treadle machine, he hatched a plan and reused the material to make over 100 new dresses for orphans in the local area.
