Kicheche Laikipia

Kicheche Laikipia Camp is located in the heart of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, at the foot of Mount Kenya and right on the equator. The camp is nestled into the edge of an indigenous forest and overlooks a permanent waterhole.

Accommodation & Facilities
Kicheche Laikipia has six large and well-appointed tents with en-suite bathrooms and generous verandahs providing great views over the waterhole, and a hammock. One of the tents has two bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms and a lounge furnished with a small table enabling private dining on request. There is a dining and lounge tent, although meals are frequently eaten outside.

Wildlife & Activities
The conservancy is home to Kenya’s largest population of black rhino, large numbers of elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard and plentiful plains wildlife. There are also a number of rarer Northern species such as reticulated giraffe, Jackson’s hartebeest and Beisa oryx. Mountain biking, canoeing, walks, visits to the endangered species sanctuary and anti poaching dog team, and night drives are possible in addition to daytime wildlife drives. Horse riding on the reserve and a night of fly camping in the Lolldaiga Hills are also possible for an additional cost.
