Banyan Tree

Set on the beautiful Anse Intendance beach on the south western coast of Mahe Island in the Seychelles, the Banyan Tree epitomises the ‘sanctuary for the senses’ philosophy of the Banyan group.

Accommodation & Facilities
The 60 large en-suite villas combine colonial architecture and contemporary d’cor and are situated amongst the swaying Takamaka trees, with unspoilt views out over the Indian Ocean. Some of the villas have direct access to the beach whilst others are situated on the hillside with uninterrupted views of the beach and the Indian Ocean beyond. Each has modern amenities including air conditioning, WiFi internet, a mini bar and satellite television as well as a sprawling verandah and private infinity plunge pool. The entire resort has been constructed using natural woods and other products to give a feeling of well-being and calm throughout. The three restaurants and in villa dining option offer a wide variety of dining styles. The hotel’s facilities are completed with a spa, gymnasium and outdoor tennis court.

Activities
For guests who tire of relaxing, it is possible to hire mountain bikes and canoes, take sightseeing excursions, enrol in Creole cooking courses, arrange beach picnics and to go island hopping from the resort. Scuba diving and deep sea fishing can also be arranged. Between October and February guests can also see the green sea turtles that come to Intendance beach to lay their eggs.
