Jaci's Safari Lodge

Jaci’s Safari Lodge is situated in ideal spot overlooking an established and well used water hole under a grove of tamboetie trees, on the edge of the Marico River in South Africa’s Madikwe Game Reserve. The 76,000 hectare reserve is close to the Botswana border, in a malaria free region of South Africa.

Accommodation & Facilities
Jaci’s Safari Lodge comprises a range of accommodation options, including eight beautifully furnished tented rooms with rollable canvas sides, each with an en-suite bathroom. The rooms are large enough to accommodate extra beds for families who wish to be under one roof. Two Starbed suites have rooftop extensions which afford guests the unique opportunity of sleeping under the African stars, and have inside and outside showers too. Starbed Suite guests also have access to the Naledi Sleepout deck, for an additional fee.

The lodge has two exclusive use suites, Nare Suite for up to six guests and Safari Suite for a maximum of eight, which both have private vehicles and guides, and their own small pools. Guests have the option to have meals at the suites or at the main camp.

The Safari Lodge welcomes families and is renowned for its excellent dedicated and trained family guides. The lodge has a main dining and bar area, decorated with African textures in vibrant colours, a games room, and two pools. There is also a sunken Terrapin Hide inside the nearby waterhole and the Thutlwa viewing deck beside it, which can be enjoyed at any time of day. Massages can also be arranged and paid for locally.

Wildlife & Activities
Madikwe Game Reserve reserve has fantastic fauna and flora, and is home to 27 species of animals and over 340 species of birds. Lion, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, cheetah, wild dog, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest can often be seen. Wildlife drives and walking safaris in the early morning and evening are the highlight of a stay at Jaci’s. During the middle of the day guests can relax by the pool or sit in the hide and watch the wildlife and birds as they come to drink. A separate shorter ‘jungle’ drive goes out later in the day for very small children which their parents can join if they wish.
