Lemala Mara

Lemala Mara is a small, seasonal tented safari camp in the northern reaches of the Serengeti National Park. It is within touching distance of the Mara River and set under large euclea trees in the heart of one of the best game viewing area of the northern Serengeti. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high, with prides of lion up to 30 strong, but nothing compared to the wildebeest migration starts arriving from June onwards. The area then turns into a wildlife paradise. Through the months of June, July and August the wildebeest continue moving through the area, crossing and re-crossing the Mara River before heading north into the Masai Mara. Migration and predator action lasts up to the end of October, assuring this area’s reputation as one of the finest wildlife areas in Africa.

Accommodation & Facilities
Lemala Mara comprises 12 spacious tents, each with good size beds and an adjoining bathroom with a flush toilet and a bucket shower. Meals are taken in a central, communal mess tent and there is also a lounge and bar area which is beautifully decorated with leather sofas and exotic wooden chests.

Wildlife & Activities
Guests at the camp can enjoy game drives in open 4×4 vehicles with expert safari guides. Lemala Mara’s superb location means that guests will often find that the camp is almost surrounded by vast herds of migrating wildebeest and zebra making their way up to the river.
