Sand Rivers Selous

Sand Rivers Selous is a truly outstanding camp situated on an outcrop of rock, providing stunning views over the Rufiji River in Tanzania’s Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve), part of the largest protected area in Africa. The reserve itself has a very small number of camps, which are miles apart.

Accommodation & Facilities
The camp has five spacious open-fronted stone and thatch cottages and three hillside suites.  The cottages have en-suite, river facing bathrooms, with flush toilets and powerful showers. The suites have their own private plunge pool and lounge area. There is a large communal area with a dining room and bar. Set just up from the riverbank is a swimming pool in the shade of an ancient baobab tree.

Wildlife & Activities
Guests can choose from walking safaris, boat trips, fishing or wildlife drives in an open vehicle. There is also the opportunity to book a fly camping trip in advance. As well as large numbers of predators, prey and birds in the area, the opportunity to see a pack of wild dog is a particular highlight here.
