Changa Safari Camp

Changa Safari Camp is set in a private concession at the north-eastern end of the Matusadona National Park.  The camp sits on a peninsula and has excellent views across Lake Kariba to the Matusadona mountain range which forms the dramatic southern boundary of the park.

Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at Changa Safari Camp is in eight large safari tents, each of which has an en-suite bathroom with a flush loo, indoor and outdoor showers, and an outdoor bath.  The rooms also feature a dressing area and a private verandah with views over the lake.  Two rooms have been specifically designed with families in mind and have an additional bedroom and inter-connecting bathroom.  The main area is made up of several thatched structures linked by raised wooden walkways and comprises a comfortable lounge and library, dining room, bar and swimming pool.

Wildlife & Activities
Guests staying at Changa Safari Camp are able to enjoy game drives, walking safaris, boat safaris and fishing.  Wildlife commonly seen in the area includes lion, hyena, elephant, hippo, buffalo and crocodile and plenty of plains game. Cheetah are in the area but spotted less often, and Matusadona is also a refuge for some of Zimbabwe’s last remaining black rhino so there is the chance to spot these threatened animals as well.  Birdlife is prolific with more than 350 species recorded.
