African Guide Academy

The African Guide Academy is located at Kwapa Camp in the Okavango Delta. The Academy offers a variety of safari guide training courses to safari guides and regular clients alike. Kwapa Camp is situated in an area of varied vegetation and landscapes, and from it’s woodland setting overlooks a grassy floodplain.

Accommodation & Facilities
Kwapa Camp has nine simple Meru style safari tents. The tents have battery lighting, a shaded verandah with safari chairs, and en-suite bathrooms with bucket showers and flush loos. The camp has a mess tent, and an outside fire place.

Wildlife & Activities
Training courses can cover every facet of guiding, with mammals, birds, reptiles, and plantlife the primary focus, and most of the activities on offer in Botswana too. Training can be provided for walking safaris, driving 4×4 safari vehicles, poling a mokoro, fishing, and safely lighting camp fires. Clients can choose from a variety of standard courses, or arrange a private training week to feature areas of specific interest.
