Alphonse Island

Alphonse is one of three tiny tropical islands making up the Alphonse atoll and is classed as part of the Seychelles outer islands.  Around 250 miles south-west of the capital Mahé, it is accessed via a 60 minute flight.  The island is surrounded by the azure blue Indian Ocean and pristine beaches while the interior is swathed with a lush, colourful forest.

Accommodation & Facilities
Alphonse Island features a single resort comprising 22 beach bungalows, five one-bedroom beach villas, and two four-bedroom beach villas built along the water’s edge, all with lovely ocean views.  Each air-conditioned room is comfortably furnished, with indoor and outdoor showers and a private verandah with seating area.  The one-bedroom beach villas are a little larger than the bungalows and several have private plunge pools in their gardens.  The main area consists of a beach bar, dining area, swimming pool, tennis court and small spa.  Every guest is provided with a bicycle to get around the island.

Wildlife & Activities
A wide range of activities coupled with a beautiful tropical setting makes Alphonse Island the perfect spot for both an action packed holiday or an idyllic, relaxing beach break.  Among the highlights are snorkelling expeditions with the resident marine biologist, superb scuba diving and guided nature walks around the island.  Fly fishing is another great draw and the expansive flats around the Alphonse atolls are an angler’s paradise with a wide variety of species patrolling the waters.
