Denis Island

Denis is a small, classic deserted island and lies some 95 kilometres north of Mahé. The 350 acre coralline island, which has just one hotel, sits at the edge of the Seychelles Bank which plunges 2,000 feet down into the abyss of the Indian Ocean. The island is almost entirely surrounded by coral reefs, rich in marine life, giving rise to a natural lagoon and gentle, brilliant white, sand beaches. It is the ultimate barefoot getaway. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
Denis Private Island is on the north western tip of the island, right on the edge of the beach, surrounded by mature casuarina trees and coconut palms. The 25 spacious and secluded cottages are all en-suite and have been stylishly decorated using natural materials and each has a private sea facing verandah. There is one Family Cottage situated on a wide beachfront area which can accommodate two adults and up to three children under 12 years or two children under 18. All the other cottages can accommodate two adults and two children under 12 or one child under 18. The restaurant serves international and local specialities and is complemented by a well stocked bar and large elegant sitting area. The hotel has a lovely pool adjacent to the main building, and there is also a library, a boutique, and a media room with internet.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meals at times to suit and staff will liaise with parents daily as to what time they would like their meals and what dishes they would like to order. The chefs are very flexible and can offer the classic children’s dishes of pasta with a variety of sauces, chicken nuggets or freshly caught fish fillets etc.  With advance warning babysitting is available and there are trained staff on the island to entertain the children charging Rs150 per hour.
