Duba Plains

Duba Plains is a remote camp situated in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta in a private 30,000 hectare reserve. The camp is located on an island, surrounded by expansive seasonally flooded plains and shaded by tall ebony and fig trees.

Accommodation & Facilities
This small and intimate camp has five vast tents and a private suite with two bedrooms, all set on spacious wooden decks. Each tent at Duba Plains has an en-suite bathroom, a bathtub, inside and outside showers, and a verandah that overlooks the flood plain and features a private plunge pool and a shaded sala day bed. Guests also have the use of a pair of Swarovski binoculars, and a professional quality Canon DSLR camera during their stay. The central mess has a lounge, a dining room and bar, along with a wine cellar, library, media room and interactive kitchen. The camp fire sits in a specially built pit on the outside deck.

Wildlife & Activities
Wildlife viewing is mostly done on day and night drives in vehicles that are specially adapted to go through the floods. This pristine area is home to leopard, lechwe, elephant, huge herds of buffalo and a large variety of Okavango Delta bird life. Duba is famous for its lions, which used to hunt buffalo in water in daylight. More recently they seem to have developed a taste for red lechwe and warthog. Depending on water levels and the density of the bush, walking safaris, boat cruises and fishing are also on offer.
