DumaTau

DumaTau, meaning ‘roar of the lion’, overlooks Osprey Lagoon on the Linyanti River in the 125,000 hectare private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. The camp’s wonderfully remote and isolated location gives guests a feel of being truly immersed in the pristine wilderness of northern Botswana.

Accommodation & Facilities
DumaTau has eight huge tented rooms, one with two bedrooms for a family, built on raised decks under mangosteen trees, overlooking the lagoon and the Linyanti River. The tents have en-suite bathrooms with an inside and outside shower, a huge verandah and an outside deck with a private plunge pool, an inside lounge, and cooling over the beds. The public areas comprise a dining area, bar and lounge on an elevated deck beside the Linyanti River, a large pool, and a shared spa and gym. The camp has a small jetty for enjoying sundowners on the lagoon, and an Olympus Photohub.

Wildlife & Activities
Guests can take day and night drives in this vast reserve, motor boat trips along the Linyanti River and Savuti Channel when water levels allow, as well as guided walks (which must be pre-booked), and trying some catch-and-release fishing between March and December. The camp has a nearby photographic hide. The Linyanti Reserve is well known for large numbers of elephant and is full of other wildlife such as lion, leopard, wild dog, sable, waterbuck and buffalo. The bird watching is excellent thanks to the variety of habitats.
