Entamanu Ngorongoro

Entamanu meaning ‘circle’ in Maa, has a unique and spectacular setting on the north western rim of the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania. Offering spectacular views, the lodge is the only place where guests can enjoy the sunrise over the Ngorongoro Crater and watch the sun set over the Serengeti Plains. Children from eight years are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
The ecologically friendly ‘tented lodge’ has just six rooms, which all have views into the Crater, heating and hot water bottles to cope with the cool climate, and hot and cold running water in the en-suite bathrooms.  Two of the rooms are configured to suit families and have one double room and one twin bedroom joined by a shared bathroom. An additional single child’s bed can be added to both bedrooms thereby accommodating a maximum of six people.  The lodge has a large dining room, bar and lounge in the central building.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate mealtimes and dietary requests can be accommodated with advance warning. A children’s menu is available typically offering cheetah cheese and tomato pizza, simba sausages and mash, Pumbaa macaroni and cheese, pancakes, chicken drumsticks and Zazu chips etc.

There is no childcare provision so parents are responsible for the supervision of children at all times.

Wildlife & Activities
Entamanu offers excellent access into the Ngorongoro Crater for game drives, along with walks on the rim, and visits to the local Masai communities.

Specifically for children …
The main focus at Entamanu is game drives and bush walks. Children under 12 are not permitted on bush walks.
