Hluhluwe River Lodge

Hluhluwe River Lodge is a friendly lodge that overlooks lake Saint Lucia in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal region. The lodge is ideally located close to the famous Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park and the coastal marine reserves of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Lake St Lucia enabling guests to use it as a springboard to explore this wild and remote part of South Africa.

Accommodation & Facilities
Hluhluwe River Lodge has twelve thatched chalets, including two for families and two for honeymooners, raised off the ground on stilts and spread throughout the well maintained gardens. The rooms have en-suite bathrooms with good showers, and the honeymoon chalets also have freestanding baths. The lodge has a main building with a restaurant and lounge, which overlook the Hluhluwe river floodplain. The lodge also has a pool, tucked away from the rooms and the main building in a quiet area of the gardens.

Wildlife & Activities
Guided activities are centred around wildlife drives in the nearby Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park, which is especially renowned for its varied ecosystems and white rhino population. The lodge has resident guides to take guests on boats on the Hluhluwe River or in open top safari vehicles. Horse riding, hiking, cultural quad biking tours or other guided day trips are also possible in the area and can be arranged and paid for locally.
