Jabali Ridge

Set on a granite kopje in Ruaha National Park, Jabali Ridge has a superb view of the valley of the Mwagusi River and the escarpment beyond and is a great base from which to explore this vast and remote wilderness. Covering over 20,000 sq km in south-western Tanzania, Ruaha is characterised by diverse landscapes such as rolling hills, sand rivers, rocky escarpments, grass plains, and groves of baobab trees, and is home to more than 80 animal species.

Accommodation & Facilities
The eight suites that make up Jabali Ridge provide sophisticated and luxurious accommodation in a spectacular site in the heart of Ruaha. Hidden among the boulders of this large rocky outcrop, the stylishly decorated en-suite rooms have slatted wooden shutters that can be opened to let Africa in or be closed to keep the room warm. The spacious rooms have big private terraces with great views of the park. The main lodge has an infinity pool, a spa and plenty of space to simply sit and admire the view. Meals are often eaten outside on the large deck, and sun-downers in the bush are regularly arranged.

Wildlife & Activities
Ruaha National Park is one of East Africa’s most diverse wildlife habitats and has a greater number of plant and mammal species than any other. Jabali Ridge is close to the core wildlife viewing area of the Mwagusi River valley, well known for high densities of lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo, and guests can take day and night wildlife drives as well as walking safaris to explore the wilderness and its wildlife. Balloon flights are an optional extra and can be arranged and paid for at the lodge.
