Wildlife & Activities
Guests can enjoy mokoro canoe trips all year round as long as water levels allow, and wildlife viewing from vehicles is possible when the flood waters recede (usually between September and May). The area is excellent for birders, and wildlife viewing is good at various times of the year. Jacana Camp is located in one of the most densely populated wetland areas for red lechwe and sitatunga. It is possible to do boat trips to Hunda Island during the flood season to see the concentration of resident wildlife there.
