The house has a large shared lounge and living area, and an interactive kitchen where the private chef prepares meals according to guests’ wishes. Outside, there are large well maintained lawns and a lovely heated pool set into a big terrace, where meals can be eaten. The property is fenced which makes it perfect for children of all ages. A dedicated team look after guests and the house, with impeccable levels of service.

Wildlife & Activities

Kwandwe has excellent wildlife which includes elephant, lion, buffalo, white and black rhino, leopard, black wildebeest, red hartebeest, giraffe, zebra, aardwolf, aardvark and cheetah, and fabulous birdlife too. Guests staying at the Fort House have the benefit of a private guide and vehicle, which allows flexibility with activities that include day and night game drives, walking safaris and fishing. Specialist walking safaris can also be arranged, searching for large animals such as elephant and buffalo with a specialised guide and tracker, subject to the availability of the guiding team. From 1st May to 30th September guests over 16 years old have the option to do an overnight walking safari with a night fly-camping for a small additional charge; please let us know if you would like to do this, as it must be pre-booked.
