Kyambura Gorge Lodge
Kyambura Gorge Lodge is perched above the Kyambura Gorge at the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda.
Accommodation & Facilities
The lodge has eight en-suite grass roofed bandas overlooking the grassy savannah and with views of the Rwenzoris in the distance. There is also a central lounge and dining area made out of local materials and decorated using local textiles.
Wildlife & Activities
Activities from include boat trips on the Kazinga Channel, game drives, visits to the Maramagambo Forest bat cave and Blue Lake, community walks and chimp tracking in the gorge (note that those wishing to chimp track should be reasonably nimble as you may need to scramble down steep banks or balance across a log over the river). From a conservation and eco-tourism standpoint, the lodge and the land surrounding it, are crucially important as a buffer zone between the chimp population and local farmers.
