Lagoon Camp

Lagoon Camp is located on the shady banks of the Kwando River in the 232,000 hectare Kwando concession in Northern Botswana. The camp is set in a forested private wilderness amongst African ebony and marula trees.

Accommodation & Facilities
Lagoon Camp accommodates only 18 guests in nine luxury safari tents, one of which has two bedrooms for a family, all looking out over the lagoon. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with an inside and an outside shower. Meals are served in a thatched dining room overlooking the lagoon, or on the outside deck. The camp has a library upstairs above the bar and lounge, and there is a pool, fireplace and a swing on the deck too.

Wildlife & Activities
The area surrounding the camp has big herds of wildlife, especially in winter, with hundreds of elephant, buffalo herds in their thousands and numerous hippo pods in the river channels. These herds in turn draw in the big predators in large numbers. Wild dog are also regularly sighted in the area.  Wildlife viewing is by open safari vehicle, both day and night, on the water by boat, and on foot. Walking is seasonal and at the discretion of the guides due to the high concentration of buffalo and elephants. As well as the large herds of buffalo and elephant found close by, there is excellent birding and good wild dog populations too. Guests staying at Lagoon Camp also have the opportunity to fish for tiger fish and bream in the Kwando River itself from March to the end of December.
